Bus Trip with Guided Walk & Lunch

About this experience

This is a package around a public bus, not a coach tour. Bratislava City Tours sends you return tickets for the regular Slovak Lines bus, which leaves from stop C1 at the Vienna Hauptbahnhof bus station (Südtiroler Platz) at 9:50 AM. Nobody from the tour rides with you. At 11:20 the bus reaches Most SNP, the first stop in Bratislava, under the UFO bridge. Get off there: the bus goes on to another stop, and the listing and several reviewers warn about it.

The guide meets you at the stop for an hour's walk through the Old Town, then leaves you at a restaurant for a two-course daily menu. After that you have about four hours before the bus home. Groups are 15 travelers at most; one April guest had 8.

Rated 3.9 from 72 reviews. The guides do well. The lunch splits opinion: some loved it, others found it cold or touristy, and vegetarians report no real option. Some guests also missed the bus because the QR-code tickets had not arrived or were hard to find. If you only want the bus, you can buy it yourself; see train and bus options.

  • The cheapest guided day from Vienna, about $86
  • Return Slovak Lines bus tickets included

Make sure you leave the bus at the stop under the bridge. [...] Our guide Elka was lovely, very solicitors and knowledgeable. Only 8 people on our tour so able to hear Elka perfectly.

Tips before you book

  • Check that the bus tickets with their QR codes have arrived before the day. One guest paid for a return bus again because the code never showed up.
  • Get off at Most SNP, the first stop, under the bridge. The bus continues to another stop.
  • Carry your passport. A guest on the same bus with this operator saw a passenger refused for not having one.
  • Vegetarians: ask before you book, or plan to eat elsewhere. Two reviewers found nothing for them.
